Brainwashed & Braindead
02:59
|

I had no plans, I started watching TV Vaguely remember flipping channels double speed
Apparently, I took a 2-hour snooze Because I woke up to the end of the news Now I'm a better listener asleep than awake
Because impartial commentary damaged my brain
My sense of reason could not weather the attack
And my gray matter has mutated into black
Your eyes look like somebody's stolen your soul
And put your personality into a black hole
Now I'm brainwashed and I'm brain dead
I used to think for myself, now my lobes hang by a thread
Because I'm brainwashed and I'm brain dead
The news melted my mind and now my brain stem stays in bed
I used to seek out facts and act on my own morals
But since that day I can't connect my own brain signals
My hypothalamus has liquefied and splattered
Prejudice pundits feed me everything that matters
I've got no use for education or experience
I don't relent when presented facts or science
It doesn't matter that my brain has no defenses
Bottom lines and ratings don't have human consequences

Dead Plazas
02:09
|
|||
Dead plazas now line this road, failing forgotten postal codes
No hopes in the bottom of town, now easier to just let it fall down
All of these stores died slow deaths, Check cashers are all that's left
Business closing in default, reduced to crumbling asphalt
Plenty of parking but no purpose left to stop
Just keep driving windows up and doors locked
Few reminders that remain from better days
We let dead plazas fade away, fade away (Fade away)
Fifty years of suburban sprawl, vibrant neighborhoods destroyed by malls
Disposable development polished and shined, into oblivion becoming punchlines
A sizeable hole too large to unsee,
Minimum support for the community
Wait for a new group of businessmen, to chase out the residents and start again

Collateral Damage
02:32
|
|||
We were a team
And I recall
You scorched the earth but it still worked, it helped us all
We set the stage
We were the best
We never gave a chance for them to second guess
Collateral damage, just from being around
Not prepared for the fallout, not equipped for the sound
Left without cover, prominence unwound
They were collateral damage, buried under ground
Then you moved on
The faces changed
Now we aren't a part of new decisions that are made
But since you left
Our stature's drained. We've got a long way to get back into the game.
